Abstract
The self-impedance values are given for piston sources whose radii are in the range 0 ·2 < ka < 1·5, with a rigid concentric baffle of any size, and with no baffle. Values of self-resistance and reactance are tabulated with baffle radii up to 25 × a, beyond which size the conditions appear to be virtually as for an infinite baffle. In all cases the radiation resistance shows its greatest value with a baffle whose diameter is about equal to one wavelength.
