Abstract

It is important to be able to assess the loads on the knee joints of arthritic patients during wakling. We have adapted previously reported methods of gait analysis so that they can be used in routine clinical examinations. The system described in this paper is in regular use investigating patients before and after knee-joint surgery. In a four-month period data was collected from over 60 patients with a wide range of knee abnormalities.
