Abstract

Voltage source converter based multi-terminal HVDC grid becomes a trend in the future. DC power flow controller can solve the overloaded HVDC lines and thereby enhancing the DC grid security by improving the degree of control freedom. But the introduction of controller can result in increasing of order number and changing of element in node admittance matrix and Jacobin matrix. This leads to the impacts on calculating speed and efficiency of conventional power flow calculation. This paper investigates a method of equivalent power injection, which the new nodes transferred to both ending of the line in the form of additional injection power, preventing the large amount calculations. The paper investigates a method to select optimal location for DCPFC based on sensitivity. In order to make the power flow control do not increase the DC grid loss, this paper uses the primal-dual interior point method to calculate the DC power grid optimization power flow with the power flow controller, and obtain the optimal adjustment value of the power flow controller.
