Abstract

A method for measuring the sensitivity of loudspeakers in diffuse field conditions is proposed. This method uses sweeps as excitation signals capturing information related not only to the loudspeaker but also related to the room (reverberant chamber). To approximate this measurement to a free field condition, digital signal possessing techniques are used to remove the components that are related to the room. The results are compared with measurements done following the method described in the international standard IEC 60268‐5 for a free field condition.
