Abstract

We combine physical and mathematical simulation of the processes of impact and penetration of cylindrical rods to develop a computational-experimental method for identifying strain and strength characteristics of ground media in a wide range of pressure. As a result, we determine the parameters of the equation of state under which it is guaranteed that the discrepancy between the experimental and theoretical results does not exceed the experiment error. The efficiency of this method is demonstrated by solving the problem of identifying the parameters of the sandy ground resistance to compression and shear under penetration speeds up to 1 km/s.
