Abstract

An effective method for fire protection of wool-containing textiles by phosphorus-containing flame retardants under the influence of CO2-laser radiation was proposed. It was demonstrated that the activating effect of the laser-radiation photons facilitated sorption processes, which helped to increase the flame-retardant content and to form a more thermally resistant fiber structure. Such modification provided reduced combustibility without a loss of material strength.
