Abstract
The road characteristic is one important stress component for the driver and is influencing a reasonable number of accidents. In order to quantify the stress level resulting from road design (described by geometry, lane guidance devices and the surrounding area) a method to analyze and rate road sections was developed. For evaluation the results gained by using the developed investigation tool have been compared with test data describing driver behaviour on according road sections.
