Abstract
Abstract The electrocatalytic methanol oxidation over Pt–Ru–Sn/C ternary alloy catalysts was investigated. The catalytic activity of Pt3Ru2Sn/C was significantly higher than that of PtRu/C. Sn in ternary alloy catalyst modified the Pt electronic structure without the large increase of Pt–Pt bond distance, which may enhance the catalytic activity for methanol oxidation by improving CO tolerance.
