Abstract
‘Meteor Faisalabad’ is a high-yielding, early maturing pea (Pisum sativum L.) variety. It was locally selected from exotic material through mass selection followed by progeny testing. Plants are mostly single stem, determinate, and green in color and bear flowers between 30 and 35 days after sowing. Seed is green in color, round in shape, and sweet in taste. Pods are 6.94 cm in length and have 5.2 seed/pod on an average basis, with a 100-seed weight of 45 g. Average green pod yield is 6.4 Mt·ha−1. The variety is suitable for cultivation in all pea growing areas.
