Abstract

Immersive interaction technology, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), plays a crucial role in creating a realistic and engaging experience for users within the metaverse. This technology can be widely used in fields such as paramedicine, industrial design, VR games, and 3D movies. Additionally, advancements in 5G networks and cloud computing have made it possible to create high-fidelity and low-latency virtual environments, making it possible for multiple users to interact in real-time in the same virtual space. This chapter introduces the concept and application of digital twins, which is a virtual representation of physical assets, systems, and processes. They are used to simulate and analyze the behavior and performance of the real-world entities they represent to improve operations, predict maintenance needs, and optimize performance. Overall, the metaverse is a vision of a fully immersive and interactive virtual world, and immersive interaction technology is how this vision can be brought to life. With advancements in immersive technology and network infrastructure, the metaverse is becoming increasingly feasible and is expected to play a growing role in how we live, work, and interact with each other in the digital world.
