Abstract

Metasurface based broadband solar absorber using circular gold resonators is presented. The proposed design is first analysed in terms of its geometrical parameters to study its effect in absorptance characteristics in the infrared frequency range of 155 THz to 428 THz. The design is further analysed in 155 THz to 1595 THz frequency range to study its absorptance characteristics in infrared, visible and ultraviolet region. Results in terms of reflectance, transmittance and absorptance characteristics and electric field distribution in the absorber is analysed. The proposed design provides high and broadband absorptance which can be applicable as absorber of sun irradiance spectrum in the solar cells.
