Abstract

Sequelae of cardiac metastases rarely account for the initial clinical presentation of patients with malignancy. A patient presented with right renal embolic infarction diagnosed with Doppler ultrasonography. Further studies revealed bronchogenic carcinoma and a left atrial metastasis from which the embolus had originated. This case illustrates the value of supplementing gray-scale ultrasonography with Doppler in selected cases of acute renal and urinary tract disease.
