Abstract

Educational Objectives As a result of reading this article, physicians should be able to: 1. Describe the pathophysiology, clinical signs and symptoms, and imaging of metastatic epidural spinal cord compression to better diagnose patients. 2. Discuss the prognosis of patients with metastatic epidural spinal cord compression to be able to determine the best treatment plan. 3. Recall the treatment options for metastatic epidural spinal cord compression. 4. List the indications for and describe the surgical techniques for surgical treatment of metastatic epidural spinal cord compression to be able to determine the best treatment option for each patient.
