Abstract

To the Editor. —In answer to Dr. Bullock's letter, let me preface my reply by stating that: (1) I require all my patients to have a complete medical examination from their family physician prior to contemplated cataract surgery; and (2) I supplied a complete clinical record of the patient to Dr. Levine so that he could write the article. I shall be happy to supply the answers to Dr. Bullock's questions from the records that Dr. Levine has kindly returned to me: The preoperative medical review was normal in all respects. The preoperative physical examination did not reveal any evidence of pulmonary or metastatic disease. The preoperative laboratory examination (complete blood cell count and urinalysis) did not suggest an occult malignancy. The preoperative chest roentgenogram was normal. At the time the hypopyon was noted, no cervical or other lymph nodes were palpable. An autopsy was not performed. I do not
