Abstract

The article examines the metaphysical foundations of N.I. Chernyaev’s works, that make him a prominent representative of Russian philosophy of the Silver Age. The author shows that N.I. Chernyaev summarized the historical experience of the Russian state and Russian people in the form of several clear patterns that indicate the optimality of autocracy for Russia as the most effective and moral form of government based on the Christian worldview. His works contain very clear formulations that require updating in our time as the “key” to the understanding of the essence of Russian statehood.
