Metaphase chromosomes from primary culture of human amniotic fluid cells

Abstract

A new growth medium is specially designed for reliable and reproducible primary culture of human amniotic fluid cells. In comparison with many conventional media at 15 to 20% serum, this medium at 4% serum provides actively growing primary cultures for cytogenetic studies in less time with a larger number of metaphase cells present.
