Abstract
The effect of linearly polarized light on the metamagnetic phase transition in the antiferromagnetic Ca 3Mn 2Ge 3O 12 garnet was studied. The photoinduced change of the transition field has been found. The observed effect is related to the magnetic moment that arises in this antiferromagnetic under illumination.
