Abstract
We have observed a metamagnetic anomaly from a non-magnetic ground state on single-crystalline CeFe 2Ge 2 and Ce 1− x La x Fe 2Ge 2 at around H=300 kOe. For Ce 1− x La x Fe 2Ge 2, the metamagnetic anomaly smears out for x⩾0.1. However, no magnetic order nor non-Fermi-liquid behavior was observed for x⩽0.2 in contrast with the case of Ce 1− x La x Ru 2Si 2 in which the magnetic instability was reported for x=0.08.
