Abstract

The addition of (OC) 5Re +, Cp(OC)(Ph 3P)M + (M = Fe, Ru), Cp(Ph 3P) 2Ru +, (OC) 5M (M = Cr, W) and CP(OC) 2 Mn to the nitrile groups of CP(OC) 2FeCH 2CN, Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CH 2CN and (OC) 3Fe(η 4-C 6H 7CN), and of (OC) 5 Re + to the carbonyl group Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CHO, yields the organonitrile-bridged complexes [Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CNRe(CO) 5]BF 4, [Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CH 2CNRe (CO) 5]BF 4, [(OC) 3Fe(η 4-C 6H 7CNRe(CO) 5)]BF 4. [Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CNM(CO)(PPh 3)Cp]BF 4, [Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CH 2CNM(CO) (PPh 3)Cp]BF 4 (M = Fe, Ru), [CpFe(η 5-C 5H 4CH 2CNRu(PPh 3) 2 Cp)]BF 4, Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CNM(CO) 5, Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CH 2CNM (CO) 5, (OC) 3Fe(η 4-C 6H 7CNM(CO) 5) (M = Cr, W), Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CNMn(CO) 2Cp and [Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CHORe(CO) 5]BF 4, respectively. The structure of [Cp(OC) 2FeCH 2CNRe(CO) 5]BF 4 has been determined by X-ray diffraction.
