Abstract

A number of supported Ziegler-Natta catalysts built on magnesocene and manganocene based supports have been synthesized with the purpose to study the influence of both structure and composition of the supporting material on the catalytic performance. Thus, procatalysts containing molecular moieties of the type MCl(C 5 H 5 )/TiCl 4 , MCl(C 5 H 4 TiCl 3 ) (M = Mg, Mn), and MgCl(C 5 H 4 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 C 5 H 4 TiCl 3 ) were prepared and tested in ethene and propene polymerization after activation with the cocatalyst methylalumoxane (MAO) and triethylaluminium (TEA).
