Abstract
1. The absorption curves of solution of copper “biuret” complexes of primary degradation products of a number of proteins have been constructed. 2. It is shown that the copper “biuret” complexes derived from proteins of the “proto-acid” type have identical absorption maxima, and equal intensity of absorption. 3. Red copper “biuret” complexes are given by the polypeptides (polyamides) formed during the initial period of primary protein degradation.
