Abstract

This paper will present a method of characterizing the first electromagnetic bandgap of metallic wire arrays in order to design waveguides around 100 to 300 GHz. A model will be presented describing the behavior of metallic wire array waveguides. It will be shown that the bandwidth of the metallic wire array waveguide can be tailored by modifying the behaviour of the metallic wire array.
