Abstract
A compact and low-cost, high-performance polynomial-profiled conical Ku-band horn with metallic cone–sphere insert is presented in this study. The horn has been designed to offer an aperture efficiency of higher than 90%, an acceptable return loss and low cross-polarisation level. Furthermore, in comparison with other high-performance horns, the proposed horn is shorter and lighter.
