Abstract

In order to elucidate the elctrochemical Li ion storage properties of metallic and semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), we have attempted several methods to obtain the sufficient amount of the two kinds of SWCNTs for the use of the electrochemical measurements. It was found by the electrochemical charge–discharge measurements that the reversible Li ion storage capacity of the metallic SWCNTs is about 5 times greater than that of the semiconducting SWCNTs.
