Abstract
Metal chelate monomers based onN-(2-pyridyl)methacrylamide have been prepared by interaction of metal salts with the sodium derivative of the ligand in water. The complexes are octahedral with two water molecules coordinated axially. Graft polymerization of the monomers onto a polyethylene powder, preirradiated in air, has been studied.
