Abstract
MS-SOFCs with symmetric architecture and integrated metal supports on both sides are prepared with infiltrated LSM cathode and SDC-Ni anode. Very high power density is achieved after optimizing various aspects of the catalyst infiltration procedure; 0.44, 1.1, and 1.9 W cm-2 at 600°C, 700°C and 800°C, respectively. Various commercially-available sealing glasses were tested, and provided good initial sealing. The initial performance is impacted by the sealing temperature. V1515 and GM31107 glasses provided the best stability during continuous testing at 700°C. Tolerance to rapid thermal cycling with 15 min start-up time is demonstrated.
