Abstract

Pyrazolyl diazine (μ-NN) bridged late first row transition metal(II) complexes have been prepared by the interaction of metal(II) chlorides with an ‘end-off’ compartmental Schiff base ligand. The ligand system has a strong diazine bridging component and obtained as a condensation product between 1 H-pyrazole-3,5-dicarbohydrazide and 3-acetylcoumarin in absolute ethanol. All synthesized compounds are characterized on the basis of various spectral and analytical techniques. Complexes are found to be non-electrolytes and monomeric in nature. The magnetic exchange interactions are very weak because of the more electronegative exogenous chloride, though diazine bridging group bring metal centers in a close proximity.
