Abstract

Nanocomposites consisting of nanometric metal particles dispersed in an oxide matrix can be prepared by a variety of physical and chemical routes which usually lead to a particular material microstructure. The physical (electrical, optical, magnetic) and mechanical properties of nanocomposites in the form of powders, films and massive materials are studied to gain informations on the physics of highly divided metal particles and have also been found to exhibit enhanced composite characteristics.
