Abstract

Four new metal-organic frameworks were synthesized based on the N-donor ligand 1,5-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-3-selenapentane (L) novel in this field of chemistry: three one-dimensional metal-organic frameworks based on silver(I) cations, [Ag3(L)2(NO3)2]-NO3·MeOH (1), [Ag(L)]NO3 (2), and [Ag(L)(H2O)]NO3 (3), and one three-dimensional metal-organic framework [Zn3(bdc)3(L)]·0.5 MeOH (4, H2bdc is 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid). Compounds 1 and 4 contain trinuclear units. In compound 1, these units are linked via the ligand L to form polymer chains. In compound 4, the ligand L bridges polymer layers, which are composed of carboxylate units {Zn3(bdc)6}, to form a three-dimensional framework. Compounds 2 and 3 are composed of mononuclear units, which are connected via the ligand L to form polymer chains. Luminescence of compound 3 was found to be due to intraligand transitions.
