Abstract

The A major challenge is to develop cost effective and durable oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysts, to replace commercially available nonprecious metal based catalyst. Our target is to develop cost effective and high efficient catalysts for ORR. In this work metal organic framework, MOF1□CB was prepared with MOF1 and carbon black (CB). MOF1□CB was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) scanning electron microscopic (SEM), N2 adsorption-desorption and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. Catalytic activity of MOF toward the ORR in an alkaline electrolyte is tested using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and rotating ring disk electrode (RRDE) technique, also the study of kinetic parameters of ORR is determined by EIS technique. MOF1□CB shows large surface area, high thermal stability and high conductivity as compared to MOF1. The MOF1□CB displayed excellent catalytic activity for ORR. This work provides a new avenue of non-precious metal-based catalysts for ORR.
