Abstract

We present the growth mechanisms of Ag, Ni, Pd, Co and Fe nanowires on Cu(100) substrate studied by the KMC simulations. It has been allows to found the optimum growth parameters (T, F, θ). Their effects have been discussed in details. The quality of nanowires has been determined by calculating the filling ratio. Our simulations exhibit that the best quality is obtained for Ag NWs. In fact, the maximum filling ratio of Ag NWs is reached for temperature range between 200 and 500 K. The increasing of the deposition flux makes decreases the filling ratio. We get an inverse behavior when the coverage is increased for two different temperatures.
