Abstract

The metal exchange reactions of Cd(II) 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrinate with CuCl2 and ZnCl2 in DMSO were studied by the spectrophotometric method. The kinetic parameters of the metal exchange reactions were determined. A possible reaction mechanism was proposed. Zinc(II) and copper(II) 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrinates were synthesized by the complex formation reactions of zinc(II) and copper(II) acetates with 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrin and by metal exchange of its cadmium complex with ZnCl2 and CuCl2 in dimethylformamide. The resulting compounds were identified by electronic absorption and 1H NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry methods.
