Abstract

Through a one-step solid-state pyrolysis reaction, we construct a Co embedded N-doped carbon nanotube ([email protected]) catalyst for catalytic ozonation. The embedded Co and doped N effectively enhance the catalytic activity and stability of carbon nanotubes, and the core–shell structure effectively solves the problem of metal leaching. Experiment results showed that the [email protected] for catalytic ozonation could completely degrade 15 mg L-1 of methylene blue solution in 6 min, and the removal efficiency was about 35% higher than ozonation alone. Results of EPR experiments and quenching tests manifested that both.O2– and 1O2 were dominant ROS contributed to the improvement of degradation efficiency with [email protected]/O3 system.
