Abstract
With the fast development of digital content generation and the increase of access of the latter by the public on web based repositories, the metadata of resources became of extreme importance. This paper reports the discussions on author-generated metadata and presents an analysis of author-generated metadata on a given IPTV system. By observing tables of data and results of queries on the system's database it was possible to observe that the metadata quality undergoes direct influence of the metadata creator profile, and the web form usability used for the generation of metadata. From the evaluation of the overall metadata quality at the analyzed system we propose an alternative methodology for the improvement of metadata quality.
