Abstract

• Nephrogenic rests, bilateral disease, and genetic predisposition increase risk of metachronous Wilms’ tumor. • Metachronous Wilms' tumor can occur more than five years after the primary tumor. • Follow-up in individuals predisposed to bilateral disease should be performed beyond five years after initial treatment.
