Abstract

The metabolism of Chemagro Corporation's anti-fluke agent, Bayer 9015 (3,3′-dichloro-5,5′-dinitro-0,0′-biphenol), has been studied in a lactating cow. No residues were detected in milk or urine up to nine days after oral administration of a single dose of 3 mg/kg of the compound to a 635-kg Holstein cow. A trace (0.17ppm) of the intact compound was found in the feces about two days after dosing. The compound disappeared within six minutes when incubated at a concentration of 5ppm with fresh rumen fluid.
