Abstract

The dynamic development of domestic poultry farming makes it necessary to constantly search for effective ways to increase the productivity of poultry and the quality of the products obtained. A new fat-soluble antioxidant of Russian production Bisphenol-5, previously successfully proved itself in the rearing of broiler chickens and calves in the preweaning period. It has not yet been used in feeding ducks of the parent herd. Therefore, the study of the use of this drug in feeding ducks is relevant. The purpose of the work was to study the metabolism, egg production and reproductive traits of Cherry Valley ducks cross when feeding the antioxidant Bisphenol-5. Poultry of the experimental groups were additionally added to the feed with diff erent amounts of bran enriched with the fat-soluble antioxidant Bisphenol-5 in a concentration of 0,125 %. Moreover, the ducks of the 1st experimental group were input into the compound feed with the studied premix in the amount of 12,5 g/t of feed. The poultry of the 2nd experimental group received compound feed, to which bran enriched with the antioxidant Bisphenol-5 (0,125 %) was added at the rate of 25,0 g of premix per 1 ton of feed. The poultry of the 3rd experimental group were fed compound feed containing a premix with the antioxidant Bisphenol-5 (0,125 %) at the dose of 50,0 g/t of feed. It was found as a result of research that feeding Cherry Valley ducks cross with compound feed enriched with the fat-soluble antioxidant Bisphenol-5 by introducing 12,5-50,0 g of premix per 1 ton of feed contributed to the increase in the production of hutching eggs by 5,2-11,5 %, increased feed conversion by 4,8-10,2 %, and reduced prime-cost production of 1 hatching egg by 3,8-8,1 %, reduction of the prime-cost of a daily duckling by 6,0-23,1 % and increase in profitability by 8,5-39,6 %. The addition of bran in the amount of 25,0 g/t of feed containing 0,125 % of the antioxidant Bisphenol-5 to the complete compound feed of ducks of the parent herd is the optimal dose of the drug being studied.
