Abstract
This study aims to describe the concept of in Jember community which is quite complex because of the abundant natural resources of marine products and earth. For this reason, NSA analysis is needed to simplify it. Data obtained from interviews in the Whatsapp family group from Jember. The research method used was online interviews and notes on a data card. Through the interview, twelve data were found, namely godhog, lup, kukus , goreng , eseng , sangan , nggeng, dang , tim , pepe, rageni, asap . In determining the subcategory of the cooking verb, the device used is the original meaning of the Natural Semantic Metalanguage approach. Based on the NSA analysis, the terms are grouped according to techniques, means, and results. All lexicon that has the meaning of cooking above the syntactic pattern of NSA: X does something to Y so something happens to Y (cooked). This research is expected to be a reference for enriching NSA research verbs in Indonesian verbs.
