Abstract

Objective To evaluate the application effect of telephone follow-up on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients. Methods Computer was used to retrieve the database of Wanfang Data, CNKI, CBM, PubMed, The Cochrane library (stage 1, 2016) and Web of science. The time limit of retrieval was from library establishment to June 6, 2016.The randomized controlled trials related to the application of telephone follow-up on COPD patients was were collected. After 2 evaluators were independently in charge of screening literatures, extracting information and evaluating the bias risk adopted to study, RevMan 5.3 software was used to have Meta analysis. Results 11 RCT experiments and 914 patients were adopted. Compared with the conventional discharge guidance, Meta analysis result showed that the difference of telephone follow-up had statistical significance on smoking-quitting rate〔OR=4.16, 95%CI(2.78, 6.23), P 0.05). Conclusions The existing evidence shows that the application of telephone follow-up is effective to COPD patients.Due to the restrictions of study quantity and quality, the conclusion above still needs further high-quality RCT for demonstration. Key words: Telephone follow-up; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; Systematic review; Meta-analysis; Randomized controlled trial
