Abstract

AbstractWe suggest a design employing message queuing telemetry transport in this paper (MQTT) for controlling wastes by monitoring and sorting them on a regular basis. This is necessary in order to maintain a clean atmosphere. Unorganized and non-systematic garbage collections have a huge impact on the society we live in. In smart cities, the collection of waste is a main issue. And in the rural area, the collection and the transmission of data regarding the status of the bin are difficult due to lack of network. The effective way of waste collection is accomplished with the help of embedded IoT system. To overcome the issues, an integrated platform is computed, which is responsible for waste segregation and monitoring. This MQTT protocol is a lightweight protocol in which the data can be transmitted at low data rate. Such that data can be transmitted to the sweepers at earnest. Sensors embedded in the system contribute to a larger extent by separation of dry and wet wastes followed by allotment of corresponding bins and monitoring the levels of bins with its maximum allotment. This information is transmitted to any of the waste management interrelated computing devices associated with it. This data transfer is purely machine dependent and does not require any human intervention. MQTT is the proprietary protocol for lightweight used for communication between the waste management system and its components.KeywordsTrackingNodeMCUSegregationMQTTTelemetry
