Abstract
It is our pleasure to welcome you to International Conference on Smart Grid and Home Environments (SGH 2011), held in Busan, Korea, May 26–28, 2011. Smart grid and home environments (SGHs) are rapidly emerging as an exciting new paradigm including ubiquitous, grid, and peer-to-peer computing to provide computing and communication services any time and anywhere. To realize the full advantages of the paradigm, we require a host of suitable security services and their applications. They will offer the user remote access to all information about appliances in the workplace as well as at home, and help them easily and conveniently use various services to enable working from home, and facilitate remote education, remote diagnosis, virtual shopping, network gaming, and portal and high-quality VOD with no limitations on space and time. The submitted papers in the various research areas were assessed in a rigorous review process by the program committee members, with each paper receiving at least three reviews. Many people contributed to the success of SGH 2011. We would like to thank the many authors from around the world for submitting their papers. Finally, we would like to thank all of the participants for their contribution to the conference.
