Abstract

We have observed a photovoltaic mesoscopic effect in quasiballistic electron interferometers in the quantum Hall regime. It was found that the mesoscopic E.M.F. generated by microwave radiation may be both periodic and aperiodic ( h/ e-and h/2 e-oscillations) with magnetic field. We have established that this photovoltaic effect is the consequence of the interference of edge current states coupled by the impurity assisted tunneling.
