Abstract

A simple, rapid and high stability analytical method development for determination ascorbic acid (AA) is using the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) embellished with mesoporous CuCo2O4 rods as a nonenzymatic amperometric sensor. The mesoporous CuCo2O4 rods were prepared by hydrothermal method adopting NH4F as a surfactant to synthesize triumphantly are employed. The sample is pure spinel CuCo2O4 rods with mesoporous structure. It is excellent electrocatalytic performances for AA is measured by I-t curve. The sensitivity of the mesoporous CuCo2O4 rods sensor is up to 9.482 mA mM−1 cm−2 within linearity range of AA concentration (1–100 μM) and 2.474 mA mM−1 cm−2 within linearity range of AA concentration (100–1000 μM), respectively. The detection limit is down to 0.21 μM with correlation coefficient R2 = 0.99. The CuCo2O4/GCE AA sensor exhibits excellent electrochemical stability, repeatability and selectivity, and actual measurement for vitamin C tablets.
