Abstract

The effect of excessive mesons on the meson-nucleon interaction in nuclei is studied. It is shown that even if nonlinear meson interactions are considered, excessive mesons exist in the nuclear ground state (GS) and the GS expectation value of the meson-nucleon interaction Hamiltonian is exactly equal to zero if there are no excessive mesons.
