Abstract
Meson-meson scattering is described in terms of the rearrangement of colour-electric flux tubes. This reduces the problem to a knowledge of the flux-tube breaking amplitude for meson decay. Various forms of this basic amplitude are considered. However, in most cases the effect of the rearrangement mechanism appears to be small, with the resultant meson-meson potentials giving phase shifts of only a few degrees.
