Abstract

The photoelectron spectra of a number of amino-benzenes have been obtained and observed energy levels compared with predictions of NCDO/2 and EHT calculations. Strong mesomeric mixing of the nitrogen “lone-pair” electrons and benzene π electrons is observed and discussed in terms of Mulliken electron and overlap populations.
