Abstract

In this chapter, tumors of connective tissue, lymphatics, vessels, smooth muscle, cartilage, bone, fat, and nerves will be considered. This is a broad spectrum and the subject will, for the most part, not be reviewed in detail. We shall pay the most attention to common lesions that can be identified clinically. Those that are primarily of interest to dermatopa-thologists will receive less coverage. Many lesions included here are best defined as reactive processes, not tumors, but we have grouped them all together because there is so much overlap. The majority of the cutaneous lesions are benign; only a few sarcomas present in the skin.
