AbstractInsurance (MIC: 8.2 SIC: 6331 NAIC:524126)Mercury General, through its subsidiaries, engages primarily in writing all risk classifications of automobile insurance in a number of states, principally in California. Co. offers automobile policyholders the following types of coverage: bodily injury liability, underinsured and uninsured motorist, personal injury protection, property damage liability, comprehensive, collision and other hazards specified in the policy. Co. sells its policies through independent agents in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Texas, Oklahoma, New Jersey and Virginia. In addition, Co. writes other lines of insurance in various states, including mechanical breakdown and homeowners insurance.
