Abstract

Recently mentoring has become widespread in Armenia as a phenomenon, as an idea. It should be noted that it is still on the way of development and enlargement. The institute of mentorship is quite developed in different countries of the world, the importance of mentoring in the context of personal development and career is often talked about. In this article, we have reflected on the origin and interpretation of the term “mentoring”, proposing it as a form of sincere and effective “I-You” relationship. At different historical times, the challenges of this stage, the value system, the demands of society, social strata, and communicative models have left their mark on the development of biological and socio-cultural programs in the process of socialization of people, and therefore on human relations. Each of us throughout our life continues to meet such people who leave a certain mark and influence the personality, his activities and lifestyle. In mentoring relationships, new perspectives, attitudes and human types are formed. In mentoring relationships in terms of evaluating the role of the mentor, it can be said that “a mentor is a person who allows the mentee to see his inner capabilities, potential abilities, developing self-confidence, selfesteem. And on the other hand, people choose mentoring for others because it is an incredibly valuable experience on the way to professional selfdetermination, self-realization, in particular, to see someone grow and succeed thanks to the competence of the mentor.
