Abstract

Two topics that generated the most discussion throughout the Leadership Project are peer and mentoring relationships and their impact on leadership. Are the next generation of leaders in higher education connecting with each other? Are they connecting with mentors? And are these important things for them to do? In the articles that follow, two of the young leaders profiled in this survey—Michael Rao and Ted Mitchell—begin to explore these questions, with Rao focusing on peer relationships and Mitchell on the importance of mentoring.
